With a future-focused mindset in all that we do, we strive to equip our students for their journey at St Peter’s and beyond. Guided by our core value, Life through Christ, we are dedicated to nurturing hearts for Jesus while fostering the academic, social and spiritual growth of young minds.
Explicit teaching of Literacy and Numeracy establishes strong foundations for learning across the curriculum. Through guided inquiry, students develop early communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. They explore ideas, ask questions, and make connections to familiar experiences, fostering curiosity and beginning to think critically about the world around them.
Building on foundational Literacy and Numeracy skills, students engage in complex inquiry, applying knowledge in deeper, more independent ways. They ask meaningful questions, investigate ideas, and solve problems through research and collaboration. Rich, challenging experiences develop critical thinking, teamwork, and a growing sense of responsibility for others and the world.
At St Peter’s, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and Christ-like values to guide them in their journey ahead. Through engaging inquiry-based learning experiences, enriched with Biblical perspectives and Gospel teachings, we encourage students to explore the world with curiosity and awe, fostering a sense of wonder as they uncover the incredible design and purpose within God’s creation. With faith in Christ as our foundation, St Peter’s strives to nurture a community of lifelong learners who honour God, serve others, and lead lives centred on Christ.
At St Peter’s, explicit instruction is prioritised to support every student in developing strong foundational skills across all areas. Clear, structured teaching sequences support literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking, aligning with the knowledge-rich NSW syllabuses. This approach provides students with the essential knowledge and strategies needed to engage deeply with content across subjects. By systematically building skills and understanding, we strive to equip students with the confidence and independence to apply their learning in meaningful and varied contexts.
Inquiry is at the heart of our learning culture at St Peter’s. We strive to empower students to explore, question, and take meaningful action in God’s world. Through guided inquiry, students develop the skills to think critically, investigate deeply, and make connections across their learning.
